The goal of this program is to provide training,
mentoring and guidance to individuals between 16 and 18 years of age who are interested in the volunteer fire service provided in Douglass Township Pennsylvania. This program is conducted on a yearly basis to show those community individuals who wish to further educate themselves and gain knowledge on what it is that a volunteer firefighter who provides public safety is all about.
This program is designed to allow male and female youth, 15 Years of age to explore a career in the fire service. The explorers receive training similar to volunteer and professional firefighters, including basic fire chemistry, hose evolutions, ladder operations, medical and CPR training, hazardous materials, and auto extrication. The explorer program is intense and demanding, however the rewards are increased character and the understanding of what it takes to pursue a career in the fire service.
Firefighters are individuals who are 18 years of age and older who provide both interior and exterior fire suppression duties.
Be on the front lines as the first line of defense to protect our first responders as they operate on emergeny scenes.
Contributing Members act as support staff to the firefighters. Contributing Members assist with fundraising events, photography and other trades and services.
